  v. 0.1.4.0 We have implemented custom markers, a waypoint, and an tooltip when hovering over markers.
  We have plans to continue to improve the map in several ways in future updates.

  A new buildable item something along the lines of a "Banner Marker" that lets you mark the map. maybe even an array of different symbols you can display for the banner to show you

  Please make the map more detailed, with names of shrines discovered, and show herms discovered on map, and in quest for herms show us which ones in a list that we have discovered.

  Make a ping button that can be placed on maps like if there’s blackberry bushes to ping it then come later when they respawn or to tell ur teammates where to go if they are far and ping to them on the map

  Just use the Rust and 7 Days to Die map systems as a guideline and merge them together....simple.
  Players should be able to add custom markers not only for navigation but to mark POI's and resources.
  Pretty standard qol features these days.

  The current yellow arrow, indicating your character's position on the map, is almost invisible when you are on a sandy area. Outlining the arrow in red or black would make it more much visible.

  I'll tack on here rather than a new suggestion. Only the current claimed bed shows up on the map, although all existing beds show up on the compass. Would be nice if all beds showed on the map, with the active bed being highlighted. Would better allow for building of small cabins around the map for sleeping and warming.

  while exploring the world it would be nice if you could add a marker that can be seen on map .. say if you find a iron node you can mark it for mining in future.. its fun finding the items but once i have found them after lots of time running around it would be nice not to have to do it every time if you dont exactly remember where its located....

  was about to post something like this in the discord, but yes, this exactly! personally, my thoughts are as follows:
  
  1) markers for hermes statues.
  2) the ability to add custom map markers. an example of a good map-marking system (in my opinion) would be valheim's.

  I would like to be able to set my own labels on the map in more numbers. In order not to load the server, if possible, the file with its marks on the map can be stored in the game folder.
