Speed up auto-gather (Hold - E)

When holding the 'E' key to gather rocks, wood, etc. it is much slower than pressing the 'E' key multiple times. I would much rather hold it then hit it constantly, but you miss resources as you're running right now.

This was addressed in 0.1.5.0 on November 22nd.

We have increased the speed of gathering when the input is held.

Good fast, reliable gathering by pushing down and holding one (remappable) key would be GREAT. Let's avoid carpal tunnel, shall we? :)

In fact, why not make an extra gather button that is a 'toggle on/off' gathering - not advised for 'during combat' but just running around...

I would like to see the speed ramp up; hold the square button (E key?) for a short amount of time, slightly slower gathering, but hold it down for more than a few seconds and the character just starts to grab EVERYTHING around them. I would honestly not mind if there were a slight, fraction of a fraction of a reduction in speed in running to compensate for picking up all the things, but yeah, accessibility is a need, and rapid tapping of a button, while fun, can lead to issues.

100% yes please make the repeat rate on the 'E' key faster. This is an accessibility issue for me; I tend to avoid spam pressing buttons in games due to my disability, but holding the harvest button in this game is so painfully slow I'm resorting to a 3rd party macro.
After some quick testing with said macro, I'd suggest maybe 4-5x faster to be somewhat comparable (but still a little slower) to a decent tapping rate. Thanks!

Absolutely this. Picking things up by spamming "E" is ten times faster than holding E. Some things, like chopped wood, mined ore/clay, and dropped items from enemies, auto gather in a small radius. No reason why we can't do this with other things like stones, flint, and plants by holding "E" for a second. Option B - make tools that allow area gathering. A scythe or sickle for plants, a shovel for loose rocks and flint. I am so tired of mashing "E" all the time...
